Promotores on the panel will share stories highlighting how they provide strength-based and hope-driven support. Through case studies and small group activities, participants will examine the complexities of hope—its promise and potential pitfalls—while uncovering perspectives often overlooked in clinical care.
The workshop will delve into practical and theoretical frameworks of hope and accompaniment, challenging familiar healthcare narratives that equate hope solely with physical healing. Interactive activities will facilitate the thoughtful exploration of the theology and practice of hope in healthcare.
Case studies will allow participants to step into the shoes of Promotores and consider how to promote dignity and care for people in complex social, cultural, and economic conditions. This workshop will equip participants with tools and approaches to integrate the perspectives and practices of Promotores into their work, enhancing the quality of care by fostering healing
relationships that inspire hope.
