Chinese Medicine, Philosophy and Religion

Chinese Religion, like Daoism and Chinese Buddhism (transformed from Indian Buddhism), had significantly impacted Chinese daily life, such as social order, spirituality, personal relationship, and career development, since the age of Yellow Emperor. Chinese philosophy, including Qi(Chi), Taichi, Yin-Yang and Five-Element Theory, which provides the doctrine and foundation of Chinese religion, has also provided powerful guidance in Chinese medicine theoretical development and clinical practice. Such philosophical foundation ensures Chinese Medicine focusing on restoring patients' health and mental wellbeing, besides addressing physical symptoms. This workshop will require audiences' participation in analyzing Chinese philosophy and joining the practice of Qigong and Taichi following the contents as below:
1. Survey of Chinese religions and their doctrine
2. Key components of Chinese Philosophy and their influence on Chinese religions
3. Review the fundamental philosophy guiding Chinese Medicine
4. Exercise on Qigong and Taichi
5. Experience acupuncture and herbal healing during the workshop
